Get To Know Me

My Background

My name is Ziyi Mu(she/her); this is my first year (second semester) in the M.Ed Curriculum and Pedagogy program. I just graduated from the University of Toronto, majoring in Economics and Mathematics. I plan to complete an emphasis on Digital Technologies and Education. I am now in Mississauga. I love education as my lifetime career. The primary reason is I would like to help those people, especially international students facing cultural differences, and also help newcomers in Canada learning English and finding their positions.

I've been an Economics tutor for four years. I decided to be an Economics tutor in my second year at U of T, and I just became a live tutor last year. Online teaching is not harder or easier than in-person instruction; it is just very different. With online training courses, my students and I benefit from a more casual, flexible approach. In addition, being unrestricted regarding location and times makes students more comfortable with the courses. With offline learning, it’s easier to ensure my students are paying attention to the class. Some students also find it easier to retain the knowledge and skills they’ve learned through offline classes than they do with online classes.
